Аннотация. В условиях информационной асимметрии передача и интерпретация сигналов выступают важнейшим способом коммуникации между государствами. В статье прослеживается траектория эволюции теории сигналов, при этом основное внимание уделяется накоплению теоретического знания в западной науке, а также его рецепции и новаторскому развитию в китайской академической среде. Авторы показывают, что западная теория сигналов прошла путь от этапа «слияния двух истоков» (параллельного становления теории игр и психологии) к эмпирическому углублению в рамках рационализма, а затем к этапу возрождения, отмеченному интеграцией плюралистических методологий, что сформировало многоуровневую теоретическую систему. Китайское научное сообщество с начала XXI в., пройдя через стадии заимствования и освоения, расширения исследовательской повестки и теоретического новаторства, внесло особый вклад в ее развитие, характеризующийся национальной спецификой (например, стратегический нарратив). Выявлено, что эволюция теории сигналов представляет собой процесс не только постоянного совершенствования формальных методов, но и их теоретического переосмысления, а также практического воплощения в различных политических культурах.

Signaling Theory in International Relations:

Abstract. Under conditions of information asymmetry, the signal transmission and the interpretation of signals serve as a crucial means of communication among states. The article traces the evolution of signaling theory, with particular attention to the accumulation of theoretical knowledge in Western science as well as its reception and innovative development in the Chinese academic environment. The authors demonstrate that Western signaling theory has progressed from the “convergence of two origins” stage, i.e. the parallel emergence of game theory and psychology, to empirical deepening within rationalism, and then to a revival phase marked by the pluralistic methodologies integration, which in turn has formed a multi-level theoretical system. Since the beginning of the 21^st century, the Chinese scientific community, after having gone through the stages of borrowing and mastering, of expanding research agenda, and theoretical innovation, has made a unique contribution to nationally distinctive theoretical development (e.g., strategic narrative). The research reveals that the evolution of signaling theory represents not only a process of continuous refinement of formal methods but also a historical process of theoretical rethinking and practical embodiment across diverse political cultures.
